Castle Reichenow which is located with its estate and park at the northern edge of the village has
been built from 1897 to 1900 in neo-gothic style. Its principal, August Baron of Eckardstein, was
inspired by the English country estates of Tudor time. The castle has been kept without any rebuilding
and thus it is an excellent example for that architectural style in Brandenburg. The two-floor building
with high plinth of granite stone is marked by built onto the front loggias, balustrades, small corner
towers and battlement crowns.
The original room structure of the building is kept. In some of the rooms are still existing the
floor coverings and wall- and ceiling linings. In the kitchen are still even the original wall tiles.
In the east and the south in front of the castle is located the landscape park with a lake and a big stock of
trees. Because of the difference in altitude between the castle, the deeper located lake and the rolling
countryside around Reichenow you are offered a fantastic view of the nature.
The castle is owned by BSG. Redevelopment and refinishing of the interior
have been carried out from 1993 to 1997.
Since autumn 1997 the castle has accommodated a hotel.
