General facts
Castle Lieberose is one of the biggest baroque castles of Brandenburg. A park with 34 hectares belongs
to the castle. Castle and park have a markable urban development importance.
Very impressive is the remained plastic decoration of the late 17th century inside the castle.
It has been built from a water castle of the 14th century after the fire of 1657 and in the middle of the
18th century to a baroque four-wing area. The main house of family of Schulenburg even served as an accommodation
for the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland.
During and after the Second World War the northern wing and a part of the western
wing with the old castle tower have been destroyed. In some rooms are still to be found
high-quality stucco plasters from the late 17th century, historic fireplaces and wall panelling.
The castle is owned by BSG.
Because of the size of the castle there are a lot of possibilities for use. The castle and the park are an
ideal place for the accommodation of a boarding-school. The combination of offices with a place for
conferences and training as a seminar house is also possible.
The useful area of the castle is 3.170 m².
Rent 5,50 € per m²/month.
